Hand spun butter lump wick

During our Bhutan textile tour, we met a lady spinning cotton while selling banana from her village. She was making wick for butter lumps.

We stayed in Khoma village. Early morning, a nun was spinning cotton for butter lumps.  She was preparing for the ritual for a sick child in the village.

Driving along mountain road, we stopped at a high pass where a family came to offer butter lumps in the small prayer room. There are always someone offering butter lumps for somebody in Bhutan.
